Are My Programs Safe to Download and Install?
Each of my Windows programs have been Cryptographically signed by me. This means that as long as the program gives my name as the author, the program has not been tampered with nor altered since the time I signed it. The Windows defender checks for this signing when you install the program. Here’s what it looks like:
If the program has be altered after I signed it, you will get the following notice:
This screen shows that the program has not been signed or that the program’s signature has been corrupted. If this was displayed for my program, it would be unsafe to install it. These days, all programmers and software publishers sign their installation programs so that you know they are genuine. When you see a screen like this, be very careful about installing the program.
